INDEPENDENT BY DESIGN

Business value should not begin with a sales call.

businessvaluation.fyi is an independent valuation-data project for private-business owners. It turns reported transaction evidence into useful benchmarks, tools, and plain-language explanations before asking anyone to create an account.

A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER

Why I built this

I kept finding the same problem: owners had to choose between generic multiple tables, opaque calculators, expensive databases, and forms designed to turn curiosity into a brokerage lead.

I wanted a different starting point—one where the useful numbers come first, their sources remain attached, and a company's private details stay private. The goal is not to tell every owner that one multiple is “the answer.” It is to show how industry, earnings definition, company size, buyer universe, and deal terms change the evidence.

This project is not a brokerage lead form. It does not sell an owner's profile, expose an individual transaction, or use confidential submissions as public content. The product should earn trust by making its methods inspectable and getting more accurate as owners contribute safe context.

THE OPERATING STANDARD

Credibility is a product feature.

01

Source before story

Every public benchmark keeps its source, period, metric, and market scope attached. Conflicting sources stay separate instead of being blended into false precision.

02

Aggregate before publish

Protected transaction data is sanitized, cohort-thresholded, and shown as grouped evidence. Names, exact deal rows, identifiers, and confidential details remain hidden.

03

Corrections stay visible

When a source changes or a method improves, the page date and explanation should change with it. The standard is reproducible evidence, not an unchallengeable number.
